New Jersey welcomes you

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

New Jersey is happening. Where else can you stay up all night gambling, then take a short drive to hike and mountain bike all day in the peace and quiet of the woods? Watch the sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean and head to the city and paint the town red all night long. Visit museums and Revolutionary War sites and then watch sharks up close.

You can have it all, while living in New Jersey.

New Jersey Academia

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

New Jersey offers higher education by renowned professors to over 82,000 students annually. These institutions include Princeton, Rutgers University, Kean University, Temple and Rowan University. Many other state funded and private colleges and universities are housed in New Jersey and attract scholars from around the world. Scholarships at the state and national level are open to students to help defray the cost of their education.

High Schools, both public and private, send students off to a great future with advanced learning skills. Scores on the ACT and SAT tests are above average for most public and private high school seniors. Christian Brothers Academy in Middletown, The Purnell School in Pottersville, Torah Academy in Teaneck and Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair are examples of the diversity offered in private school educations.

New Jersey has been receiving grants from GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) since 1999. This allows more students in New Jersey inner cities to get educational assistance such as tutoring and summer school, in order to finish high school and go on to college. New Jersey has worked very hard to get its educational standards up and has since become one of the highest ranked in the country.

For those who choose to drive, EZ pass in your car allows for quick passage at the toll plazas. EZ Pass is an electronic device mounted on your windshield that is pre-paid to allow you to go through any highway connected to the system without stopping to pay at the toll plaza.

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

The Meadowlands is a complex built inside of a wetland/wildlife preserve in northeastern Jersey. In the midst of the Meadowlands is Giants stadium, where the New York Giants and the New York Jets play football.

The stadium next door houses the New Jersey Devils NHL team and the New Jersey Nets, the NBA team. Many concerts and theater productions are offered throughout the year at both venues. A horse racetrack is also on the grounds of the Meadowlands.
